Hi we meet again this month and i shall talk about low line kick, which are very effective
for real situations.Forget the fancy jumping, spinning ang high kicks that you see in the 
Matrix. Not many Trinity`s fighting tecniques can actual help you in a real fight situation.
What i was told again and again by my instructor, keep it low, sharp and straight to the 
point.! `Stay focus, hit it accurately!` said Kru Jak.

No offense.. I`m not saying that olympic Tae kwon do kicks are no good in real situation.
I`m sure the dynamic roundhouse kicks, back swings and the chopping kicks, executed by a 
Tae kwon do expert will do a lot of damage if it hits the target. But taking into account
the heavy body weight of your male opponent, the slippery floor, your high heels and tight
jeans will put all the high kicks to a disadvantage. So le`ts be realistic, bring the kicks
lower and at the targets below the belt.
Drill 1
 

1.Face Off
There are 4 types of kicks, which
are quite effective when blasted 
at targets below the belt`s. They
are the side kick, front kick, 
stomp kick and; and crocodile tail
kick.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The side kick is probably the most famous kicks in the martial
arts. The late Uncle Bruce Lee loved it! Uncle Chuck Norris has
been doing it before i was born. Uncle Jet Lee never miss this
technique in all their movies. If you are a Karate ,Tae kwon do,
Kung Fu and silat practitioner you must be be very familiar 
with it. For reference here my descripton of a side kick.Raise 
the lead foot with the knee pointing slightly backwards , heel
in-line with the target .Thrust the heel out/forward full power
as you exhale sharp through your nose/mouth. Depending on 
flexibility,you could aim aim at the head, mid and low level.
Lean slightly back for those high kicks. You can also use your
rear side kick when your opponent is retreating or backing off.



                       The front kick is the easiest of them all. In Thai boxing we
                       called them tip. I find the karate's front kick pretty cool.
                       Sharp, incrdible fast and snappy! I do learn a lot from the
                       studio members who are also high ranking in other arts like 
                       Karate-do. Just like what the late Uncle Bruce Lee said `absorb
                       what is useful`. To a Muay Thai stylist, front kick is like a jab 
                       and cross for the legs. Lead front kick is the setter, the opener.
                       The rear front kick is the killer! To do a front kick raise your
                       knee up high with your ball of feet pointing forward, shoot out
                       forward aiming the ball of the feet or heel out to the target in
                       front of you. You could lean back a bitfor those high kicks.

         



The stomp kick is is good for us girls with high heels.It is so
easy to do it. Just raise your your leg and stomp the sharp heel
into your opponent`s ankle, feet or knee. It is one of the best 
get away techniques. With injured leg, he could not chose as fast.

The croco is the mother of all kicks for Muay Thai kick boxer. It 
is actually a turning kick with either the lead or rear foot using
the shin as the contact surface of the striking weapon. the kick 
is not focus on the surface of the target, but to be blasted 
through the target. Imagine being hit with huge  baseball bat! It 
could know the living day light out of you.

 

 
Remember to cover                                                          the face before
firing your bombs                                                          on your opponent

3. Fire a lead front kick to abdomen.
4. Lead hook to side of the head.
5. Raise your knee high.
6. Stomp kick at opponents nearest ankle.

Drill 2

1. Face off.
2. Lean back avoiding opponent`s cross.
3. Blast a side kick into his ribs.
4. Cross to the throat.
5. Blast a croco on to his nearest thighs.
Drill 2
