Who
is Jak? Jak started
Kickboxing under a streetfighter - Ajarn (Grandmaster ) Bakar @ Bakawali from
Thailand when he was only 13 years of age (1974) in Kelantan (The northen state
of the Malaysian peninsula, close to the southern border of Thailand). It was
from Ajarn Bakar (who was nick-named King Tiger), where the young Jak learned
the fighting art of Thai Kickboxing. For 5 years, 5 days week, the veteran street
fighter taught a group of young boxers (the young Jak being one of them) on
the sandy beaches of Sabak in Kelantan.
Why
would I want to do Kickboxing?
In a few simple words - Keep fit, kick fat and kick butt!

After
27 years, Jak still practices the style of Kickboxing which was taught to him
by his master. The veteran streetfighter passed away in 1990 and Jak vowed to
carry on the tradition of the King Tiger School of Muay Thai. In 1995 , the
King Tiger Muay thai Kickboxing International was formed by Jak to preserve
and promote Ajarn Bakar @ Bakawali 's style of Muay Thai kickboxing.
At the time, Ajarn Bakar was on the run after killing his opponent and winning
an underground fight in Thailand which he was not meant to win. He created the
rumour that he was hiding in Singapore in order to draw attention away from
him, and he moved to Sabak (Kelantan) to work as a fisherman during the day
and to teach Muay Thai during the night. After 5 years of training under the
veteran street fighter, Jak graduated from junior college and went to the UK
to further his studies.
